The IU Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center (IUSCCC) is the only NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center in the state of Indiana, and the only member of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) in the state.
IUSCCC is a national leader in cancer research and is seeking an outstanding and innovative scientist to be the inaugural holder of the Rikki and Leonard Goldstein Chair in Cancer Research.
The Chair is supported by a $2M endowment.
A preference is considered for candidates with a focus in lung or pancreatic cancer research (inclusive of basic, translational, clinical and population research), but all cancer research areas are relevant.
The holder of the Chair will be a full-time faculty member with expertise in cancer research, preferentially in lung cancer or pancreatic cancer.
Candidates should hold an MD, PhD, MD/PhD or equivalent terminal degree and currently lead an extramurally funded cancer research program.
The Chair holder is expected and will be supported to develop their research program into a collaborative and multidisciplinary effort that can be competitive for multi-investigator extramural program, network or center type funding.
Holders of the Chair will be appointed by the IUSM Dean in consultation with the IUSCCC Director and appropriate home department/division chair.
Expenditures may include, but are not limited to, a salary or salary supplement for the designated holders of the Chairs, funding to support research, graduate research assistance, staff, technology, equipment, and other requirements of an active faculty scholar.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
