Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Indiana University Bloomington, USA, to join the Soil Ecology Lab group at the O'Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs. The postdoctoral fellow will work on collaborative research aiming to integrate soil fauna diversity into the soil health framework and to investigate causal linkages to agronomic and environmental outcomes in the U.S. Midwest. The postdoctoral fellow will be responsible for collaboratively coordinate soil fauna analyses from experimental sites across the Long-Term Agroecosystem Research (LTAR) network. The successful applicant will work with PI Dr. Andr Franco and a team of collaborators across various management systems and sites to perform soil fauna measurements, validation of new methodologies, data analyses using both parametric and nonparametric methods, and on manuscript preparation.
The postdoctoral fellow will take leadership roles in organizing research and outreach activities in the Soil Ecology Lab and will be directly involved with the mentoring of both graduate and undergraduate students in the lab as well as on proposal development. The postdoctoral fellow will be based in Bloomington, Indiana. The position is expected to last for 12 months beginning as early as July 1, 2024, with opportunities for an additional year of support contingent on performance. The starting date is negotiable.
Qualifications: The successful applicant will have earned a Ph.D. in ecology, soil science, entomology or closely related field at the time of appointment, and must have knowledge of soil biology and morphological identification of soil invertebrates, coding proficiency, and excellent writing skills. The successful postdoctoral fellow should have demonstrated an ability to work independently and in a collaborative and dynamic research group.
Preferred skills: Extraction methods for soil microarthropods and nematodes, statistical modeling. Robust understanding of soil ecology will be a priority when reviewing applications.
Salary: $52 - $58k. Commensurate with experience. Full benefits included.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
