Summary:
Selects and assembles products to fill customer orders. Is accountable for meeting productivity, accuracy and safety work standards. May be required to use a variety of powered industrial equipment and may be required to work in dry or cooled product areas, including freezer compartments .
Basic
Qualifications:
Must be able to perform the Essential Job Functions with or without a reasonable accommodation in the conditions specified for 8 - 10 hour shifts. Must be able to work weekends, holidays, day and evening hours, and overtime as assigned. Must understand and be able to communicate in English, including but not limited to, reading and interpreting order forms and selection labels. Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills are required.
Preferred
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED.
Prior warehouse/distribution experience.
Prior experience operating power industrial equipment, such as a long-tongued electric pallet jack and high-extender high lift.
Essential Job Functions:
Selects, assembles, palletizes, and otherwise handles cases, boxes, bags, and/or pallets of dry groceries, frozen foods, dairy products, produce, poultry, fish, beef, pork, and related products as identified on order forms, in the quantities specified, for delivery to customers.
Must lift products weighing between 40-60 lbs. frequently and products weighing up to 100 lbs. occasionally.
Uses long-tongued electric pallet jack and high-extender high-lift. Operates moving equipment (_i.e_., walkers).
Maintains a clean and safe work environment by properly disposing of pallet boards, wood chips, and other trash, etc.
Conducts daily checks of powered industrial equipment, using a safety checklist, to ensure such equipment is in good working order.
Reports damaged and/or out-of-stock product to supervision.
Must report for work regularly and on time, as scheduled.
Must take direction from supervision and work well with others.
Must work well under pressure, organize and prioritize work assignments, and meet established deadlines.
Must perform assigned tasks accurately and completely.
Must be flexible, handling changes in work requirements productively.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Additional Skills/Aptitude:
Must be able to follow oral and written instructions. Must be able to work under general supervision and follow safe working practices in accordance with Nash Finch safety policies and procedures.
Physical Requirements:
Must frequently sit, walk and stand, use hands to handle, grasp, and twist objects, tools, or controls, and use both feet for repetitive movements as in operating foot controls.
Must frequently walk, talk, crouch, kneel, bend, stoop, twist, and reach with the hands and arms.
Must be able to step up and down on power equipment and climb a ladder repetitively.
Must be able to hear and see within normal range with or without corrective devices.
Must lift products weighing between 40-60 lbs. frequently and products weighing up to 100 lbs. occasionally.
Working Conditions :
While performing the duties of this position, employees are subject to a warehouse environment and frequently exposed to changes in temperature and humidity (-20 to 105 ). The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
Employees must be able to work weekends, holidays, day and night hours, and overtime as necessary and as assigned, and must be able to work in the conditions specified for 8 - 10 hour shifts.
